Fred Campbell is a disabled Illustrator / Animator / Digital Designer. He Grew up on the Isle of Wight, before moving to London in 2010. He graduated from Middlesex University in 2013 with a BA illustration degree. He then went on to study Sequential Design / Illustration MA at The University of Brighton.
His recent career highlights include working for Microsoft on an animation highlighting the experience of one of their disabled employees, you can see that here. Fred would love to be able to share more disabled stories through his work.
Another highlight was working with the Theatre Company ‘Ginger Line’ on a site-specific immersive-dining show called ‘The Grand Exhibition.’ He storyboarded and designed the look and characters for a globe-spanning theatre show. You can read more about that project here.
He has also worked for Scope, Condé Nast and Paramount U.K.
Fred has also taught as a visiting lecturer on both the B.A illustration course at Middlesex university and on the M.A in Picturebooks and Graphic Novels.
Additionally, He has worked as a Digital Marketing Designer for a mixture of agencies and publishers. You can see examples of the type of work here.
He is a founding member of Drawn Chorus Collective, who have worked on various exhibitions and book / Zine projects since 2013.
Fred creates atmospheric illustrations, with pen and ink and watercolour and digital means. He is a natural storyteller who has always been obsessed with books and comics of all stripes. Through his illustration work he aims to create worlds for the viewer to step into.
